Interesting Fact;
Rapping, often called "MC-ing," originated in the 1970s South Bronx, but the term itself has roots in 16th-century English, meaning "to strike". It evolved from Jamaican "toasting" (speaking over beats) and is considered a form of rhythmic, spoken-word poetry. The first major rap hit was 1979’s "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugarhill Gang.
